Snow White: The Way Through the Woods

Deep in the woods, two children are running…

When a bedtime story becomes unnervingly real, a young boy is drawn into a world of magic and treachery. Hunted by a witch and her sinister servants, he must make his way in a land where children do not long survive. A princess hides among strangers, fleeing her mother’s devilish schemes – but who can she trust?

Boasting a ten piece live orchestra and specially composed score, this is the story of Snow White as you’ve never known it. With a twisted take on familiar characters and an irreverent disregard for story-book convention, this is an electrifying retelling of the classic fairytale.

Join us for a tale that will haunt your dreams long after dusk descends. When two worlds come together, who will survive? Just how happy an ending can we expect? And how many will find The Way Through the Woods?

Pushing the boundaries … with a hefty orchestra and a robust cast, The Way Through The Woods is an ambitious show with big ideas and a flippant disregard for compromise… Cambridge Tab, January 2011.

The writer, Paul Cooper, and composer, Edward Bell, both members of Cambridge University, explain their creative thoughts on the show in this video:
