Grassmarket Community Project

Two Shades of Blue recently put on a charitable gala performance of “Back to the Future: The Pantomime”, with all proceeds going to the Grassmarket Community Project.

We were delighted to raise £561.50 in support of the excellent work they do in supporting re-engagement in the community within Edinburgh, a place that has been very special to us over ten years of performing.. We were also delighted to
welcome some users of the project to our performance, who seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves, and were most enthusiastic at helping out with the publicity beforehand!

Our company was formed from the Oxford and Cambridge University Light Entertainment societies, and one of the main aims of the societies is to take theatre to those who cannot normally attend; we have asked that the money goes towards the particular project of providing musical workshops for the service users, and we hope this will be successful.

We should say that we are able to give a much bigger donation because the lovely people at Paradise Green not only helped with the publicity, but also waived their theatre fee for this performance; a great deal of the success of this gala performance was due to them.
